Infographics for Seattle Parks & Recreation ▼
Time: June 2021
A project with Seattle Parks & Recreation Department, to broadcast and promote their reopening plan with multiple Summer activities plus special programs.
Role:
Design lead, responsible for providing graphic design support for the editorial and marketing team.
Problem:
There’re a lot of summer activities and programs, including the reopening of different recreation spots, childcare services, virtual classes for disabilities, etc. The department just wrote a long post listing all the activity details. We need to find a way to effectively introduce the plentiful programs to the audience, together with a balance between “simple/understandable” and “inclusive/informational”.
Solution:
In order to cover all activities in a brief yet intriguing way, I designed an infographic version of the summer plan, recategorizing the activities and programs by different age groups and specialties. I worked with the editorial team to define the key message and get assistance with fact-checking. The marketing team also provides audience insights to guide the information structure.
This infographic is the visual storytelling for this campaign. It simplifies the longsome details and makes the complicated programs more understandable with a glance. It’s also a shareable marketing collateral that could be used as an add-on or as a signal advertising graphic to increase reach.
